Chance Bahadur has spent his career in helping add value to businesses through operationally-based strategies in consumer-oriented industries. He instituted appropriate financial structures, formulated and implemented sound fact-based growth strategies for acquisitions and divestitures. At Esmark, he was involved in 55 acquisitions and 30 divestitures. Additionally, he developed information systems to manage businesses through financial analyses of operational aspects of a business. Bahadur also has experience in various types of domestic and international corporate financings, as well as mergers and acquisitions on a global basis. He has worked with major domestic and foreign commercial and investment banks, as well as public and private shareholders. During this period, he was associated with two IPOS on the New York Stock Exchange.
Prior to his present position, he was Executive Vice President of Federated Stores, Inc. (now Macy's) and Chief Financial Officer of its department store subsidiaries, Federated Department Stores, Inc. and Allied Stores, Inc., Senior Vice President and Treasurer of the Marriott Corporation. He spent thirteen years with Esmark, Inc., Beatrice Companies, Inc. and E-II Holdings, Inc. as Vice President and Treasurer and was part of the management group participating with KKR in taking Beatrice private. During this period, he also had a board association with Centennial Funds, a large Denver-based venture capital investor.
Recently he has been focused on enhancement of value of start-ups to medium-size businesses. He was involved in early stages of an Internet-based exchange for private equity venture capital, a large title insurance company to study and redefine its acquisition process, in sourcing opportunities in the nutritional supplements industry for potential investments in partnership with the largest private equity fund in Chicago and in the acquisition and turnaround of a natural and organic food manufacturer. He also consulted with a major private equity fund in connection with maximization of values of its various investments. Most recently he served as the Chief Financial Officer and a director of an early stage California company engaged in developing markets for green (biodegradable and compostable) tableware products.
He is a member of the faculty of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
