Financial Regulation Leader Joins the New York Institute of Finance

Former NYSE Regulation CEO part of effort to have practitioners teach next generation of leaders

New York – JUNE 18, 2014 – Leading financial education training provider, the New York Institute of Finance (NYIF), today announced that Claudia Crowley, former CEO of NYSE Regulation, will join NYIF’s education faculty.  Claudia’s appointment comes as part of the institute’s model to recruit top industry professionals to develop and deliver educational content.

Claudia brings expertise and insights garnered over a 30-year career in financial markets regulation, including previously serving as the CEO of NYSE Regulation and Chief Regulatory Officer of each of the NYSE Euronext U.S. securities exchanges.  Currently, Claudia serves on the Business Conduct Committee of the CBOE and is a principal of Crowley Labovitz Consulting LLC. Notably, Claudia navigated NYSE Regulation through a turbulent period of regulatory and financial market structure change.  She will develop courses on financial market structure, regulation, compliance and cyber security.

According to Claudia, in the aftermath of the global financial crisis, there has never been a greater need for organizations to empower their workforces with up-to-date and thorough knowledge relating to regulation and compliance.

“Sensible regulation has the power to protect businesses, and employees are the first line of defense in assuring a firm’s compliance and avoiding regulatory issues. Using NYIF’s model of continuous, subscription-based training, we will help organizations to understand and keep pace with a changing regulatory framework by providing up-to-date information and real world examples,” Claudia said.

With a history spanning more than 90 years, NYIF is one of the oldest financial market educational providers and offers a suite of training courses for all levels of financial professionals. As part of the Financial Times, one of the world’s leading business news organizations, NYIF is also able to leverage the FT’s award-winning news, comment and analysis.

“The heart thumping pace of change means we are constantly developing new courses to keep our Alumni and students ahead on the issues and topics affecting the industry.  We have a unique subscription based model, which means our subscribers never stop having access to the best learning and always have the latest, most up to date information and education as they need it. With regulatory demands at an all-time high, this new type of training service is imperative for professionals in this sector,” said Lee Arthur, Managing Director, New York Institute of Finance & Execsense. “We pride ourselves on providing courses that are market-driven and delivered by industry leaders.”
