An expression used to denote a securities option with a strike price that is profitable in comparison with the current market value of the underlying stock-that is, an option with intrinsic value. A call option is considered in the money if the underlying stock is higher than the striking price of the call. A put option is considered in the money if the stock is below the striking price.
