Leadership Essentials - EveningWith four generations in the work place, telling someone to do something is no longer effective in getting results. In addition to basic management skills, leaders today must inspire, coach, motivate and truly listen to their team members. Leadership Essentials will equip you with the basic tools required of managers today and then go beyond the basics to fill your tool kit with skills to enhance performance, build creativity and momentum on your team. During this highly interactive, five-session evening course, leaders will learn to use appropriate interpersonal communication styles and leadership methods to guide individuals or groups to goal accomplishment. The sessions begin with a close look at yourself, understanding your communication style and the impact it may have on others. Exercises to learn to capitalize on your strengths, while adapting for your weaknesses, will assist leaders in building relationships, trust and commitment among those they interact with. From that foundation, the group will explore the skills and best practices of leadership, performance management, feedback, coaching and motivating their workforce. Experiential learning will be used to allow introduction of theory, practice of skill application, individual reflection (including self assessment) and lots of small group and large group discussion. An action plan will be created at the end of the sessions to transition your learning and ideas back to your team. | ||||||||||||||
