Valisha Graves

Practical Experience:

Valisha Graves specializes in financial statement analysis, with an emphasis on earnings quality and corporate governance as well as LBO analysis.

Valisha is currently an Executive Director on Morgan Stanley’s ModelWare team working in the Private Equity Channel with responsibility for investment due diligence for potential private equity investments, distressed debt, and leverage buyout opportunities. She is also Product Manager for the following Web-based ModelWare applications: Intrinsic Value, Food Chain, and Profitability Analysis, designed to generate investment insights using the ModelWare framework. Valisha is responsible for the ModelWare Cross Asset Class (CAC)/LBO application which is used to both screen and conduct scenario analysis of potential LBO candidates.

Ms. Gravese has prior business experience in Corporate Development as part of a four-person deal team at Accordia, a $100 MM early stage, quasi private equity fund whose primary investments were in e-commerce technology.

Prior to Accordia, Valisha was a Vice President in the Finance Division of Lehman Brothers. As part of the Business Planning & Analysis Group she was responsible for the financial modeling, academic research and data analysis for a global risk equity allocation project to determine the risk-adjusted returns of the Firm and its businesses.

Before joining Lehman, she was a Manager in Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Consulting practice and spent 10 years at National Westminster Bank in a variety of roles, including asset/liability management within the Treasury Group identifying interest rate hedging strategies for the bank’s $30 billion balance sheet. She recommended proprietary trading strategies using financial futures and options, marketing Fixed Income, Fixed Income Derivative and Foreign Exchange products to institutional and retail clients in order to drive business to the Sales & Trading desks, evaluated potential acquisitions as part of the Strategic Planning Group, and wrote reports on the local and national economy reporting directly to the Bank’s Chief economist.
