Marc Cherney

Practical Experience:

Marc Cherney is a New York Institute of Finance faculty member who specializes in Accounting for Investments and Derivatives. Marc is an independent financial consultant responsible for providing financial accounting and reporting guidance to publicly held companies in a variety of industries. Marc regularly conducts seminars on investment accounting for chief financial officers, accounting managers, staff accountants, external auditors, financial analysts and others who seek his advice on the interpretation and implementation of financial accounting guidance published by various regulatory and accounting standard-setting organizations.

Prior to this, Marc held positions in corporate accounting, internal audit, and organizational development at CNA Financial Corporation’s international headquarters in Chicago. While at CNA, Marc worked with top management to develop financial acumen training for top executives. He was also responsible for creating and facilitating enterprise wide training programs for the company’s financial accounting and reporting professionals.
