McCabe Hurley

Practical Experience:


McCabe Hurley has been a New York Institute of Finance faculty member since 2001. Ms. Hurley is an accomplished market professional with over 25 years of financial markets experience. McCabe became an options trader in 1979 for an early day hedge fund specializing in risk arbitrage and options. She then became a member of the American Stock Exchange representing Chicago Research & Trading as an equity & index options market maker. As team leader and risk manager, Ms. Hurley employed many of the position and risk management techniques developed by CRT which are now commonplace in the derivatives markets today.

McCabe joined Credit Lyonnais in 1992 where she marketed fixed income products to US asset manager and financial institutions. Her product mandate included swaps and options with a focus on asset swaps and structured solutions.

In 1996, she became a member of the New York Mercantile Exchange making markets in natural gas options for a private partnership. In 2006, she joined Commerzbank AG’s Corporate Risk Advisory Group where she was responsible for covering corporations (energy companies, durable goods manufacturers and commercial real estate partnerships) bringing derivative-based solutions to these entities.

She currently runs her own consulting firm working with a wide variety of financial service institutions providing training, private coaching and process solutions.
